Ahou Yasmine is an actor, singer, and writer based in Los Angeles. Ahou recently played the role of a devout Lebanese mother on Le Beyrouth, a short film about the 1978 Civil War in Lebanon, currently on the festival circuit.

 

As a singer in the Los Angeles area, Ahou has performed as a soprano soloist with Artes Vocales for several years in styles ranging from classical to musical theater repertoire. Currently, she sings with mixed-genre vocal arts group Areté Vocal Ensemble in Los Angeles where she sings as ensemble singer and soloist.

As book-writer and lyricist, Ahou has worked on the short, original musical Seeing the Light, which performed at The Broadwater in Hollywood; a satirical tale about the trials of a female astronomer in the late 19th century and a natural disaster controversially predicted to occur in the Syrian Ottoman.

 

With a varied performance career, Ahou has also performed in numerous plays with Golden Thread Productions and Contra Costa Civic Theater.

She has recorded a cover of Kate Bush's Army Dreamers and written several songs, among which is a song for Iranian political prisoners titled Dark Night (Azadi).

 

Ahou is currently working on the book, lyrics, and music of a full-length musical in development. She is a member of Actor's Equity, Maestra, and Dramatists Guild.
